Siphonic toilets have the advantage of being able to function with a greater pre-flush water volume in the bowl and greater water spot.
This is because the siphon action pulls the majority of the pre-flush water volume from the bowl at the end of the flush cycle. As the tank refills, a portion of the refill water is directed into the bowl to return the pre-flush water volume to its original level.
